You’ve Heard About TMD… But what is it?
Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMD) involves the hinged jaw joints in front of your ears. Because these joints are close to nerves, muscles, connective tissues, and ligaments, symptoms are diverse. They include earaches, facial or head pain, ringing and propping ears, dizziness, tender jaw muscles, restricted jaw muscles, restricted jaw opening, and clicking or grinding jaw joints. Pain can be intensified by a bad bite, teeth clenching or grinding, tooth trauma, or impacted wisdom teeth.
Treatment for TMD varies and therefore requires your dental professional to assess your jaw joint and symptoms.
If you have any of these issues or symptoms, please let us know. We”ll help you identify if TMD is the cause of your pain with your free consultation as a new patient at our clinic.
